Dyson V7 Battery Replacement Review

Our Dyson V7 Vacuum was pretty reliable for the past 5 years, but it's starting to not hold a charge more than 25 seconds. This makes it virtually impossible to clean our home unless it's a tiny mess that a dust buster could suck up. Rather than buy a new Dyson vacuum, we decided to try this EGR battery replacement on Amazon that is made specifically for all V7 Dyson models.
The Dyson battery replacement from EGR comes with a 1 year warranty and is packaged in a small box that also includes a small screwdriver, 6 screws, 3 extra replacement filters along with a HEPA filter, which will only work if you have the Animal, Absolute or Fluffy models. It should also be noted that this replacement battery will only work on the V7. This company makes different batteries to fit other models like the V8 and V10.
Installation instructions are printed right on the side of the box. You are supposed to remove the dust cover so you don't accidentally trigger the vacuum while doing the replacement. We just released the dust cover rather than removing it, but either way it'll do the job. Then you unscrew the 2 screws on the bottom of the battery housing. Then unscrew the 1 on the back of the handle which will release the old battery. Pull out the old battery and replace it with the new one. We used the old screws on our V7 to tighten the battery in place, but you could use the new ones that come in the box if need be. Then give the new battery a full charge before using for the first time.
After using the V7 with the replacement battery from EGR, the vacuum hasn't prematurely died on us yet. We've run it for over 5 minutes and it still had juice left in the tank. Going from 25 seconds to over 5 minutes on the max setting is very impressive. For anyone who owns an older Dyson vacuum with low battery life, we highly recommend giving the EGR battery replacement a try. You can make your Dyson run like brand new versus dropping $350 or more to buy a new one.
