Rainpoint indoor hydroponic system

We've been looking for ways to grow our plants from seed, but it has been hit or miss when planting outside in the garden. We tried a product called RainPoint, that allows you to grow your plants inside your home. The RainPoint provides a totally controlled environment to grow your plants, allowing you to move them outside once they've grown to a more stable size. The RainPoint is compact and self contained with a water tank and an adjustable height grow light.

The grow light has a few different settings, depending on what you want to grow. There are buttons for power, water pump, vegetables, and fruits/flowers. We were planting vegetables so that was the button we selected, and make sure the water pump button Is also illuminated. For this batch we decided to plant cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce. The cucumbers are very fast growing and you will need to transplant them quickly. Lettuce tends to take weeks to start sprouting, so be patient with them.

After assembling your machine, the 1st thing you need to do is soak the seeds you'd like to use for about 5 to 6 hours. I sometimes soak mine overnight. Then soak your sponges for about 5 minutes. Once soaked place the sponge in the planting basket and add 2 to 4 seeds per sponge with tweezers. Add your blackout sticker to the planting basket and place them in the machine. Top with a grow dome and put black covers on any empty basket holes.

When your seeds have germinated, add the nutrient solution provided in your kit. Once your plants get to a sturdy size they are ready to be planted outside. With lettuce we like to keep a few in the grow machine so we can pluck what we would like to add to a burger or make a small salad. This machine really cuts down on growth time and helps you on your way to a healthy garden.
